This morning, while I was filling up my boat in Deweyville

This morning, while I was filling up my boat in Deweyville, a man walked up to me. He asked if he could go back home yet, and sadly, I had to tell him no. His face fell with sadness, and he told me this was the second time he had lost everything. He said the only thing he has left to lose are his daughters.

Right now, he’s living in his truck, but instead of asking for help, he’s looking for work. He’s a welder and has his own truck and machines. He can work with both aluminum and steel. I don’t know much about welding, but I really respect his determination to get back on his feet. If anyone has a welding job available, let me know, and I’ll connect you!

One of my fellow officers took a picture of me praying with him at the gas station without me knowing. He sent it to me later. I’m asking all of you to do what I did—pray for him and others who are going through hard times.

The man told me he was raised in the church, but right now, his faith is being tested. I can’t imagine what he and others in similar situations are going through. Please keep them in your thoughts and prayers.
