On March 6, 1981, a German mother named Marianne Bachmeier shot and killed the man who had killed her 7-year-old daughter. She did this in the middle of his trial. Marianne was heartbroken and furious after hearing the man say that her daughter had tried to “blackmail” him. In her anger, she secretly brought a gun into the courtroom — a .22-caliber Beretta pistol — and shot him.
She fired six bullets, and he fell dead on the floor. Marianne was arrested and put on trial for killing the man. She was sentenced to six years in prison, but she never felt sorry for what she did.
As she was taken out of the courtroom, she reportedly said, “Unfortunately, I only got the pig from behind.”
