About a month ago, I asked for prayers for my family but didn’t share too much detail. Now I have an update. My son, Anthony, went to the doctor because he had lower abdominal pain. After doing some tests, they found a tumor in his colon. The doctor initially thought it was stage 2 colon cancer. The only good news was that his heart, lungs, liver, and kidneys were all healthy.
But after more tests and appointments, the diagnosis became worse. Anthony’s cancer is now stage 4 because there are two tumors instead of one. Some lymph nodes are affected, but his other organs are still safe. The good news is that his cancer responds well to radiation, and he will also undergo chemotherapy to strengthen the radiation treatment. The plan is for radiation to cover about 85% and chemotherapy to cover the remaining 15%.
In just one month, his condition has gone from stage 1 to stage 4. Please keep Anthony in your thoughts and prayers. He’s a strong person who always manages to make me laugh—even now, with everything happening, he’s still cracking jokes. I believe that having a positive attitude is a huge part of beating this, and since he’s my son, I’m sure he’ll overcome it.
Here’s the face to go with his name. Thank you all for your support.
