After dropping off a food order after 6 PM

After dropping off a food order after 6 PM, I noticed something that didn’t sit right with me. Several food and grocery deliveries were left sitting outside, and I started to worry—was the elderly woman inside okay?

Concerned, I went to a neighbor to ask if anyone had seen her recently. He simply said, **”Just ring the doorbell.”** Before I could, another delivery driver arrived with more food. She looked just as worried when I mentioned it.

While helping the neighbor get his cat back inside, the elderly woman finally came to the door. She was using a cane and wearing a dirty nightgown. I gently told her we were concerned after seeing the untouched food and groceries, some of which had likely been there all day or longer. We offered to help her bring everything inside and mentioned that some food might need to be thrown out.

It made me wonder—does she not realize when her deliveries arrive? Does she forget? Maybe she should update her drop-off instructions to **”Ring the bell”** so she knows when food is there.

I’m so relieved she was okay, but it’s still worrying to see food left out that long. What do you think? Should delivery services check in on situations like this? 🤔💭
