I had a rough travel day on Sunday after my partner and I got separated in Chicago due to bad weather. My 8-month-old baby was on only his second flight ever, and he was doing so well—until he decided he wanted to visit the person sitting by the window.
After a quick introduction, he kept trying to crawl over to her. She smiled, opened her arms, and said, “Oh, just give him to me!” Exhausted, I handed him over, and not even a minute later, he put his head on her chest and fell asleep.
She laughed and said, “Power of the boobies!”
Then she told me that if I needed a quick nap, she would happily hold him while he slept. After so many delays and layovers, I decided to accept her kindness and rest for a bit.
This kind stranger turned a terrible day into a moment of hope. It was a reminder that good people are still out there!
