I want to give a big shout-out to Valerie, a manager at Home Depot!
I went to the store tonight to pick up a refrigerator box she had saved for me. We needed it to turn my son’s wheelchair into a police car for Halloween.
Right away, I knew Valerie was amazing. She got down on the floor to cut the box for me! She had beautiful nails, so I joked that they weren’t made for a box cutter. She smiled and said, “My vest means I’m here for whatever you need!”
After loading up the box, Valerie didn’t stop there. She helped us come up with ideas and find all the supplies we needed. We walked all over the store, getting creative together!
Then, when we got to the checkout, Valerie did something unbelievable—she paid for everything herself.
I tried to refuse, but she just smiled and said, “This is a blessing for me.”
My son may not have understood much beyond her kindness and patience, but as a special needs mom, I can’t tell you how much this meant to me.
The best part? The way she treated my son, and how much he loved being around her.
Thank you, Valerie, from the bottom of my heart!
