If British Paratroopers and Royal Marines were deployed to fight in Ukraine, how well, in combat will they perform against the Russian army?

One of my friends in the Armed Forces of Ukraine was a Royal Marine. Now he serves as a combat medic in Donbas where he is highly respected among his peers.

That the Ukrainians like their British comrades doesn’t surprise me: Not only the paras and the Marines, but British combat troops in general, are of good quality. They have excellent training, a lot of experience and tradition.

Of course. if British infantry troops were to be deployed in larger numbers here (which will never happen), they’ll first need some additional training to properly adapt to the Ukrainian military tactics and command system.

After that, they would properly perform as well as their Ukrainian partners. I don’t expect them to outclass anyone, though:

Ukrainian combat troops are exceptional. These guys are well-trained, experienced, courageous, and extremely resilient. The Armed Forces of Ukraine isn’t some third-rate military but a highly professional military force.

They are an equal match for every Western infantry unit, Marines or not, and far better than anything the Russians can come up with.
