If you’ve smoked cigarettes for most of your life, is quitting even worth it?

GOD YES!! Worth every bit of it!! I started cigarettes at age 12, I spent my whole life smoking up until the age of 26. What made me quit? CANCER. Yup. At 26 years old I was diagnosed with renal cell carcinoma (kidney cancer) in my right kidney.

I was a heavy, heavy, smoker, we are talking 2 packs a day! Surgery was performed to remove half of my right kidney to get rid of the nasty, large, bulging tumor that was sitting on my kidney due to cigarette smoking.

It’s been a year now since I’ve had my surgery and since I’ve been cigarette free and since then my doctor has told me my lung functions have improved tremendously, not only that, the scarring and tar that was left behind on my lungs from cigarettes has since been slowly removing itself and my doctor told me by next year that my lungs will be restored like I never smoked cigarettes in my life!

My best advice to anybody out there is to quit while your ahead! Don’t wait for it to make you sick, or even worse, kill you! It’s not worth the pleasure of feeding a nicotine addiction. Below I’ve attached pictures of my journey to show you how serious the repercussions of smoking cigarettes are.
