My Brave Little Fighter 💙
It wasn’t me who went to the doctor—it was my 4-year-old daughter. She was just 3 years old when all of this started.
Last year, she began having stomach pain, and her belly looked bloated. At first, we thought it was just constipation.
But after a few days, when the pain didn’t go away and her belly kept getting bigger, we decided to take her to the doctor.
I thought they’d say it was nothing serious, but instead, we got terrible news—she had cancer. On June 8th, 2020, she was diagnosed with a Wilms tumor.
We stayed in the hospital, and the very next day, she had surgery to remove the tumor and one of her kidneys.
After that, she had chemotherapy every week. But in December 2020, we got the best news ever—she didn’t need any more chemo, and the cancer was gone!
This month, we’re going back to the doctor for a check-up, just to make sure everything is still okay.
I feel so lucky to have my daughter healthy and happy again. When we first found out, I was heartbroken. I thought her normal life was over. But it wasn’t.
Through it all, she never cried. She even liked going to the doctor and meeting the nurses. She got tired more easily, but she was never upset.
It’s amazing how strong kids can be in tough times. She’s doing great now—she’s gained weight, and her hair is growing back. 💙
