My son is in a wheelchair and drives a special van that’s been modified for his needs. This morning, when he tried to drive, the front driver’s side tire fell off! All the lug nuts came out, and both the tire and rim were damaged. It looks like someone tried to steal the tire during the night, but because the van is modified, they couldn’t get the tire off with a normal jack. This kind of situation is frustrating for anyone, but for my son, it’s even harder because he relies on his van to get around.
After a lot of phone calls, we finally found a towing company that could come right away. Jason from ‘On Time Towing’ in Richmond, VA, went above and beyond to help my son. He had to figure out a way to get the van onto the flatbed tow truck just enough so that he could get a jack underneath to remove the damaged tire. These vans have lowered floors, so it took some extra time to do that.
Once Jason saw that the hub assembly wasn’t damaged, he offered to put on the spare tire so that my son wouldn’t need to tow the van. It was also a very hot and humid day, which made everything even harder! Jason was a real lifesaver. Thanks to him, my son was able to drive to an important event this evening, and he’ll be able to get the van fixed on Monday. Thank you, Jason! You really saved the day!
