She had been spotted tied to a tree at a busy intersection with no food or water. Thinking the owners were in a shop, no one came to her aid. But when she was seen again in the same spot 24 hours later, a good samaritan took her to the local shelter. I had left my name there and told them to call me if they received any cocker mix. They called me and 45 minutes later I walked in their door. I look around and saw a German Shepherd, a lab and a great dane. “Oh no!” I thought. “I didn’t tell them cocker mixed with WHAT!” John laughed when he saw my face, and said, “She’s in the back, let me go get her.” Out he came with the cutest little pup I had ever seen. She is a cocker/daschund mix and weighs about 16 lbs. She looked at me with those big brown eyes, her tail wagging 90 mph and as I bent down she licked my face. “That’s my dog!” I said immediately, as I scooped her up into my arms. My husband and I fell instantly in love with her and she became a part of our family. We named her “Querida” which means “Beloved” in Spanish, and she certainly lives up to her name. We call her Queri. We are so happy she rescued us and found her fur-ever home!
