“So, we went to Walmart today, and my nephew Lakken saw an elderly man who was having a hard time shopping. The man couldn’t lift his head up to see straight, so he could only see the ground and a little bit of the sides of him.
Lakken looked at me and said, ‘Aunt Ry, can I please help him?’
I said, ‘Yes.’
So Lakken went up to the man and asked if he needed help. The man’s face lit up, and he said, ‘Yes, that would be amazing, young man. Thank you so much.’
Lakken ran all around the store to help the man, and the man was so happy. He told us he hadn’t had help in years, and he was so glad to meet such an amazing, smart young man like Lakken. I was so proud of him!
Lakken even helped him check out and bag his stuff, and he made sure the man got the shuttle bus.
The man tried to tip Lakken, but my nephew said, ‘Oh, thank you, but I don’t need this. I enjoyed helping you, you keep your money.’
I’m beyond proud of my nephew Lakken. You don’t see many people, especially kids, doing things like this for others.”
