Sophie is from Texas. Her owner was sent to jail, and Sophie was left behind in the house. She was so difficult to catch that the sheriff initially considered shooting her due to her aggressive behavior. Thankfully, another sheriff stepped in, and Sophie was taken to a shelter. She spent a long time in rehab before moving to another shelter, where she stayed for years.
Because she’s part pit bull, Sophie had a tough time finding a home. When she was first rescued, she was about 2 years old. By the time we saw her profile at 9, she had never known life in a home. Even though we lived far away in Washington, we decided to adopt her without meeting her in person. She was placed on a transport van with other dogs and sent our way.
We brought her home just two weeks before the pandemic began, and she’s been with us ever since. She’s a creature of habit, but she’s also a cherished member of our family. We spoil her every chance we get and love her endlessly!
