This is my 14-year-old daughter. On the way home, she saw an elementary school-aged boy sitting under a tree in a shopping center. She said, “It’s too hot, Mom, stop the car!” She asked the boy where his parents were, and he said, “I don’t know.”

She asked if he could call them, and he only had his dad’s number. She let him call his dad, standing a little away so he wouldn’t feel scared. Then she told him to get off the street and stand in front of the Rite Aid so strangers wouldn’t try to approach him, and he could run into the store if needed.

She said, “Mom, let’s wait until his dad picks him up, and I might need to get him some water if it takes too long.”

This moment showed me why I will never let anyone make me doubt myself as a mom. It confirmed that I’m raising kids who are kind, caring, and ready to make a difference—true queens and kings. 👑👑
