Today, my family and I were going through the Starbucks drive-thru when we saw a man sitting alone at a table. He looked very upset, yelling loudly. He seemed unkempt and possibly homeless.

We felt sorry for him and knew he needed help. So, we called 911 and stayed in the parking lot to make sure he was treated with kindness.

A police officer soon arrived. Instead of being harsh or forceful, he calmly pulled up a chair, sat across from the man, and spoke to him in a gentle way. He looked him in the eye, meeting him at his level, and within moments, the situation calmed down.

Watching this officer treat the man with such respect brought tears to my eyes. He didn’t see him as just a problem—he saw a person who needed help.

These are the stories that deserve to be shared. This officer, Reese from the Garland Police Department, did an amazing job, and I hope he gets the recognition he deserves. Please share!
