I was driving to the post office when I passed a house with a table set up on the sidewalk. There was a sign that said “FREE.” I turned around, parked my car, and walked over to the family sitting next to the table.

As I got closer, a young man asked if I needed a meal. I soon realized the table was full of prepared meals. I told him, “No, thank you,” but I was curious about what they were doing. Honestly, I was starting to get a little emotional. A lady sitting behind the table explained that they often prepare meals to give out on Sundays.

I was so moved by their kindness. I felt a bit awkward but managed to thank them for what they were doing. I tried to offer some money, but the lady kindly said no. I’m still not sure why I decided to stop and talk to them, but I do know that their act of kindness will stay with me as a reminder of the good in the world, especially in times like these.
